have you found it yet?
If you won $20million (after taxes) tomorrow, would you quit your job? Sure you'd visit friends in far flung places, pay off a house or car, buy some clothes. After you got tired of jet-setting and laying on the beach sipping drinks, what would you WORK AT? Does what you're working at feel like the "cure for cancer"? When you're chillin' with your friends do they say, "You know you really should _____" essentially describing the best part of your job? Are you working at your life purpose? Sure, some people do it "on the side". But why not do it full-time? Let me guess, it won't pay da bills. Are you sure?
I've been working crazy hours lately. The difference between this and my previous job(s)?-- the convergeance of inspiration & life purpose. I've always been one to have an answer. Ask me anything. 98.5% of the time, I'll have an answer. Sometimes that's a bad thing. But I can easily say that I've never been short on vision. Thinking outside the box is a fun game... not a chore or some desolate intellectual hinterland. I've been working crazy hours lately... and I love it. I've risen from restful slumber, driven from a comfy bed by inspriation that demands to be recorded before visions evaporate. 16 hours straight of writing, researching, imagining, brainstorming, clarifying, stopping only to eat briefly. I've been working crazy hours lately... and it feels awesome. CHALLENGE is my fuel. More importantly, I'm living my life purpose. How can I be so sure? If I won the lottery, I'd continue working at what I'm doing lately.
I've had brief moments of panic wondering how I can earn a living from ideas. What if they don't generate the results that clients are expecting/paying for? And then a calm confidence surfaces, reminding me of the checks & balances in the process of moving solutions into deliverables... and the "God complex". I read somewhere that all Christians should have a "God complex", after all the Holy Spirit lives in each of us. Maybe it's my innate level of arrogance that helped me understand the author's concept quickly. Everything that I know/breathe that's "true, noble, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy..." etc. comes from God within me. The Creator gave me the intellect that I wield. He is The Author of my brilliance. Everything good that feels like it comes from the core of my soul is from Him. It's valuable. Heck, it's priceless. I'm not the only human who has ever possessed it. What I'm bringing forth is not new to the Universe... just my clients. Some of the solutions I can offer are as familiar as ancient tales of lore... further proof that will likely work. Good news. It's just that my clients have never employed such tools (well) before meeting me. No sweat! That's why I'm here... on this planet... to serve... to help... and, apparently, to GET PAID!! God is good. I'll touch the "paid" part next.
Too often Christians figure God has nothing but painful lessons in store for them. Romans 12:2 urges us to, "...be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Many Christians believe that God's will is pleasing to Him, but not to us. I'm here to declare that we're built such that we will be TICKLED PINK by God's will for us. He knit us together in our mother's womb. He knows what will put a smile of your face... and I'm not talking about drugs & such. How do we find it? Listen to people who have your best interest at heart when they comment about your strengths. Meditate on those words and ask the Holy Spirit to expand on those comments. Pay attention to the stuff you really like to do. Boil it down to its essential parts. You like to talk, great. What are you doing when you're talking? Are you a persuasive debater? Are you teaching life lessons? Are you a natural cheerleader, helping people stay positive? Do you like to fix cars? Do you love finding a needle in a haystack? Do you love research? Do you love children... with patience everlasting? And don't get me started about SUPER POWERS. All Christians are divinely enabled to help / serve other Christians- spiritual gifts. Do you know what your spiritual gift is? Discernment, healing, teaching, administration... the list goes on. God doesn't want you to have an excuse for wasting this life doing "other stuff" that pays the bills. He's providing you with clues as to what your life purpose is. Why not do it full-time? I'm just sayin'... think about it.
peace, Ingrid
